What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy; the energy in all living things that nourishes them and keeps them alive.
Reiki assists the immune system thus accelerating the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Reiki triggers the 'Relaxation Response', making it an effective technique for total relaxation and stress release.
Reiki helps to release emotional pain from the present and past without reliving it.
Reiki clears the mind and aids in decision-making.
Reiki helps in regaining strength, focus, and balance in everyday life.
Reiki brings a lasting sense of well-being.
Reiki affects all levels of body, mind, and spirit.
Reiki is not a religion: it holds no creed or doctrine.
Reiki is not a belief system, therefore, it is not necessary to believe that Reiki works in order to benefit from a treatment.

What is a Reiki Treatment Like?
Reiki treatment is a gentle, hands-on process that allows healing, balancing energy to be transferred through the practitioner to another person.

• Treatments are safe, non-intrusive,
non-invasive, and non-manipulative.
• The recipient remains fully clothed
and no substances are applied to the body.
• The practitioner's hands are placed on
the head and torso unless touchless is
more comfortable.
• Although the focus is on the major organs,
the healing energy will reach and benefit
every cell in the body.

after the full basic treatment.
• The Usui System of Reiki is a natural art

How Often Are Treatments Recommended?
You set your own schedule based on your particular needs. People who have specific health challenges, are extremely stressed, or are in pain, may want more frequent sessions. People with chronic pain should consider learning Reiki for daily self-treatment as pain management.

Reiki courses are available for all levels including Reiki Master.
My own training has been mostly with Usui Reiki, so that is what I teach. I am also a Reiki Master in Tibetan / Usui Reiki but have chosen to focus on traditional Usui Reiki.

In 1921, Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese teacher, responded to a challenge from his university students and undertook an extensive study of the healing phenomena of history's greatest spiritual leaders. Through exhaustive research, he rediscovered a system of healing based on ancient Tibetan Sanskrit teachings. He spent the rest of his life practicing and teaching this method of natural healing, which involves attunement to the Reiki energy and the laying on of hands. Dr. Usui taught over 2,000 students.
Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, one of Dr. Usui's students, operated a Reiki clinic in Tokyo from 1928 to 1940.
In 1938, Mrs. Takata, a Japanese-American woman, was healed at Dr. Hayashi's clinic then stayed to learn Reiki from him. Mrs. Takata returned to Hawaii and taught Reiki till her death in 1980. Reiki training became accessible to the western world in 1940 due to the efforts of Mrs. Takata.
